Bac Giang Rehabilitation Hospital - Rehabilitation training for family members and caregivers of post-stroke patients

"The training session equipped family members and caregivers of stroke patients with Stroke general knowledge, prevention instruction, early recognition signals of stroke, precise and in-time treatment when a stroke occurs.

 The program also guides participants in basic exercises in rehabilitation for post-stroke patients, from correct posture, instructions to help patients to sit up, stand up, sit down properly, how to move patients, to guidance for patients to perform basic daily activities such as eating, drinking, brushing hair, brushing teeth, going to the toilet ... to help patients returning to their normal life soon. Thereupon, it is aimed at minimizing complications after stroke and enhancing the ability to reintegrate into the community for the patient, saving costs incurred, reducing family and society’s burden."

Avant Program is a collaboration between the Government of Vietnam and the Republic of Austria. This training session attracted 30 family members and patients to participate and was directly instructed by Dr. CKI Bui Xuan Hanh - Head of Department of Surgery - Emergency Rehabilitation of Rehabilitation Hospital to guide theoretical problems and basic practice exercises.

At the end of the program, the participants hope that many of the patients' families will also have the opportunity to be trained with the foremostly modern knowledge to help stroke patients recover their neurofunction, overcome the sequelae and regain their independence at the fastest pace. 

The Rehabilitation Hospital is expected to coordinate with EVER Pharma to organize a training program for family members and caregivers of post-stroke patients once a month to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation for patients. /. "
