Bac Giang Newspaper - Implementing AVANT program to support post-stroke patients.

On April 15 of 2017, Bac Giang Newspaper reported on the AVANT program supporting post-stroke patients organized with the professional support of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), Vietnam Medical Association, Ever Pharma and the Vietnam Rehabilitation Association.

The AVANT program holds to join hands with health workers to regain's patients independence at a fastest pace. 

As part of the program, doctors and therapists working in neuro-rehabilitation from leading hospitals in Vietnam will receive in-depth training on neuro-rehabilitation after stroke at pioneering neuro-rehabilitation centers in Austria. 

The first course was held at the Hospital of Rehabilitation Bad Pirawarth and Hospital Christian Doppler (Austria).

The training content consisted of two principal sections: Stroke general knowledge including how to diagnose, cure, neuro recovery mechanism and relapse prevention; Basic neuro rehabilitation exercises help post-stroke patients return to daily life soon after a stroke.

The training program is expected to spread across the country, from central hospitals to health centers at all levels in three years. /. "
